It's OK to Say No

God says “no” many times throughout the Bible. He told the Hebrews, “No, you can’t go into the promised land.” He also told them, “No, you can’t have other Gods.” Adam and Eve were told, “No, you can’t have the forbidden fruit.” Jesus was told, “No, you can’t escape being crucified on the cross.” Jonah was told, “No, you can’t do what you want to do.” Yet, somehow, we live in a culture that expects Christians to say “yes” to everything. God sets the ultimate behavior model for us to follow and in His rule set, saying “no” is a perfectly acceptable course of action in certain circumstances.
